(The wording used in the alert is that if deleted from a shared folder the sheet will be deleted from connected devices.) Granted players would no longer have access to the now deleted online file, but would it also be removed from their ipad the next time they went into Dropbox to access additional files to download? It doesn't make sense to me that a tune downloaded onto a device would be deleted. I was just puzzled that if a sheet is downloaded from DropBox onto someone's iPad, how it could delete that sheet simply because it was no longer available online. The only reason I put the music into the shared Dropbox folder is because that is how you get the pdf files into the GigBook app. We all use DeepDish Gigbook on iPads to download the sheets for rehearsals and gigs. My goal: to free up space in my Dropbox without impacting the contents of my musicians' iPads. My question is, is it possible for each member of the shared folder to download the entire folder's contents onto their own computer, into their individual DropBox folders so they are still accessible to re-download to the iPads if needed? Once this is done, and the files reside on the individual's own Dropbox, can they be deleted from the Shared folder without impacting access for the previously files that were initially downloaded to their ipads, or would they have to reload all of their newly downloaded music onto their devices because the initial pages are gone from the shared folder? The issue is that if I delete a file from my own shared folder, I am also deleting it from my bandmates' devices, and this is absolutely not what I want to happen. I, as the admin, want my files to sync as I add new tunes, so that the others can get the newly added music, so it doesn't sound as if "selective sync" will work for me. I know that I can copy my files to another folder for safekeeping, and have done so in the past. Once they have the music on their devices (iPads) I would like to be able to delete some of the files to free up space, but without deleting them from the individual's iPads. ![]() I have a shared music folder for my band members (several different bands).
